Jus Mundi Becomes the First Legal Tech Company to Achieve ISO 42001 Certification for Responsible AI

Press Release

Paris, 29 July 2025

We are proud to share that Jus Mundi has become the first legal tech company to achieve the ISO 42001 certification, the world’s first international standard for AI Management Systems (AIMS).

Audited by Prescient Security, this milestone demonstrates that Jus AI, our suite of AI assistants, meets the highest global benchmarks for responsible, transparent, and trustworthy AI governance.

What is ISO 42001 and Why it Matters

ISO 42001, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), sets requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving AI Management Systems. It is designed for organizations providing or using AI products and services, ensuring the responsible development and use of AI systems.

As the first global standard for AI governance, ISO 42001 offers a structured approach to managing the unique challenges of AI – from ethical considerations and transparency to continuous learning and improvement. For legal professionals, it means choosing technology that balances innovation with governance.

Our Commitment to the Legal Community

AI compliance is increasingly a global priority, particularly in the legal sector, where professionals operate in one of the most high-risk, sensitive environments. By achieving ISO 42001, we are reinforcing our commitment to delivering AI systems that are not only high-performing but also fully compliant and trustworthy.

Our Chief Information Security Officer, Matthieu Guilpin, added:

“This certification proves that we’ve done the work. We have structured AI governance, risk management, data safeguards, transparency, and ethical oversight, all verified by a third party. And because we are certified, our clients are better positioned to meet their own compliance obligations. We’re not just protecting our systems – we’re helping protect theirs too.”

Building Trust Together

This achievement builds on our ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type I attestation, creating a strong foundation for trust, security, and transparency. As AI adoption grows in the legal profession, we remain dedicated to supporting our users with technology that is powerful, responsible, and secure.

We are proud to take this step forward – not just for Jus Mundi, but for the entire legal community that relies on us to work confidently with Jus AI.
