Jus Mundi and IPBA Announce Partnership to Enhance Global Awareness of International Arbitration in APAC

Press Release

Paris & Tokyo, 2 August 2023

The Inter-Pacific Bar Association & Jus Mundi are excited to announce their new collaborative partnership to collect non-confidential commercial arbitration materials and landmark arbitration-related judicial decisions in the Asia-Pacific region to make them easily accessible to the global arbitration community.

The goals of this partnership between IPBA & Jus Mundi are to share the developments and best practices in arbitration from APAC and IPBA’s members and increase access to legal information by bringing the international arbitration community together. Jus Mundi has already been publishing commercial arbitration materials on its search engine since April 2020, and this partnership will further increase Jus Mundi’s commercial arbitration coverage in APAC.

“We are thrilled to partner with IPBA and its members,” said Jean-Rémi De Maistre, CEO of Jus Mundi. “This collaboration will provide our users with a wealth of information and insights from APAC jurisdictions, and help us to further expand our platform’s coverage in international arbitration.”

“IPBA has long been committed to promoting legal scholarship in international arbitration, especially with regards to linking principles from civil law jurisdictions with those from common law jurisdictions.  It is hoped that this collaboration with Jus Mundi will further enhance our efforts in this area and at the same time provide a platform for our members to share their expertise.”, said José Cochingyan, III, Secretary General of IPBA.

Jus Mundi and IPBA share a commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and excellence in arbitration, and this partnership represents a significant step forward in realizing that vision.

About IPBA

The Inter-Pacific Bar Association (“IPBA”) is an international association of business and commercial lawyers who live in, or otherwise have a strong interest in, the Asia-Pacific Region (sometimes referred to as the “Region”). It was established in April 1991 at an organizing conference held in Tokyo attended by more than 500 lawyers from countries within the Asia-Pacific Region. Since then, it has grown to become the preeminent legal association in this Region, with membership drawn from throughout the world, and currently has over 1,500 members from over 65 jurisdictions worldwide.
