Jus AI will be the first agentic AI to help counsel, parties and institutions identify and assess candidates.
Press Release
Paris, October 27, 2026
Jus Mundi today announced a private beta for new arbitrator search capabilities in Jus AI, its agentic AI platform for international arbitration.
Building on Jus Connect’s thousands of data-backed profiles of arbitration professionals and its Conflict Checker tool, Jus Mundi is extending Jus AI beyond legal research, analysis and drafting to support another crucial part of arbitration proceedings: identifying and assessing potential arbitrator candidates.
The new capabilities are designed to help practitioners move from the facts, issues and strategy of a case to an evidence-supported shortlist, followed by deeper due diligence, including conflict checks, on individual candidates. They are not intended to automate appointments or replace formal conflict checks, verification or disclosure obligations.
“Arbitrator selection is one of the most consequential, and least supported, decisions in any arbitration. Practitioners have long relied on reputation, personal networks and informal exchanges with colleagues to identify potential candidates. Our clients asked us to help make this process more transparent and evidence-based, and we listened. This beta is the first step toward giving practitioners broader visibility and more robust evidence through AI-powered arbitrator search, built on ethical AI principles,” said Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO and Co-Founder of Jus Mundi.

A New Standard for Arbitrator Selection
Powered by Jus AI Tenet v5, its proprietary LLM model made for arbitration, Jus AI combines an agentic architecture with lawyer-led quality assurance and an AI management system certified to ISO/IEC 42001 for the responsible development and use of AI.
Choosing an arbitrator is one of the most consequential decisions in a case, yet it often rests on personal networks, word of mouth and hours of manual research. Jus AI aims to change that in three ways:
- Better-informed choices. Lawyers can ground a shortlist of arbitrator candidates in documented experience, published reasoning and the specific issues of their case, not reputation alone.
- A wider, more diverse pool. By surfacing relevant candidates beyond the most familiar names, AI can help practitioners identify qualified professionals, including newer or under-represented candidates, who might otherwise receive less visibility.
- Time back for strategy. Faster shortlisting and earlier due diligence free up time for judgment and client advice, and help spot potential issues before an appointment is made rather than after.
For parties and institutions, this means more transparent nominations and stronger confidence in the people deciding their disputes. For the arbitration community, it is a step toward a fairer, more open appointment process.
Why a Private Beta
AI can broaden access to information about practitioners and help lawyers look beyond familiar names. But it can also reinforce existing appointment patterns, overlook less-documented experience or produce incomplete or inaccurate impressions of a person’s work.
As a mission-driven company, Jus Mundi believes these questions should be addressed with the broader global arbitration community, not only within a product team. Jus Mundi intends to invite members of its Mission Committee, a limited group of engaged clients and partners, and organizations with expertise in diversity and professional standards, such as Equal Representation in Pledge and Arbitral Women, to help test and challenge the approach.
The program will run for approximately three months, with access opened progressively. Broader release will follow the review and implementation of the feedback received.
Shaping the Standard with the Arbitration Community
Participants will assess the relevance of candidates suggested by Jus AI, the clarity of the supporting evidence, the treatment of different forms of experience, and the risks of bias or misrepresentation.
Jus Mundi’s goal is not to automate arbitrator appointments or replace professional judgment. It is to give practitioners broader visibility, stronger evidence and a more efficient starting point for one of the most consequential decisions in an arbitration.
The private beta reflects Jus Mundi’s belief that responsible AI should be developed with the communities it serves. Feedback from program participants will help shape both the product and the safeguards around it.
