Jus Mundi Sets Sights on Asia with a New Local Office & Team

Press Release

Paris, 26 August 2024

Jus Mundi, the global legal AI leader, proudly announces a major expansion in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region with the opening of its first office in Singapore. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in Jus Mundi’s mission to enhance global access to legal intelligence, particularly in a region that is increasingly central to international trade, arbitration, and dispute resolution. Singapore stands out as a premier legal hub with a strong reputation for arbitration and international dispute resolution.

With a global client base of over 500 leading law firms, multinational corporations, universities, and government entities, Jus Mundi is making significant strides in the APAC region. Notable clients in this region include leading law firms such as Rajah & Tann and Zhong Lun, multinational companies like Samsung Engineering and United Energy Group (联合能源), government bodies such as South Korea’s Ministry of Justice and Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and prestigious academic institutions like Kyoto University and the Macau University of Science and Technology. The trust these top organizations place in Jus Mundi’s expertise and services underscores their growing reputation in the APAC market.

Jus Mundi’s growth in the region is fueled by strong collaborations, including partnerships with over 70 arbitral institutions and associations. Notable partners in the region include the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC), the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), the Mumbai Centre For International Arbitration (MCIA), and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). With over 24,000 regional documents in its database, Jus Mundi provides unparalleled access to non-confidential arbitration materials, solidifying its role as a vital resource for legal professionals globally.

By opening an office in Singapore, the company aims to deepen its local presence and nurture these relationships with clients and partners by providing further local support. The city-state’s strategic location and business-friendly environment make it the ideal launchpad for the company’s continued growth across Asia.

Alongside the office opening, the company is expanding its team in the region. The appointment of a Head of APAC is the first step, with additional hires planned to support business development, client relationships, and partnerships. This dedicated team will be instrumental in driving growth and ensuring the company continues to meet the evolving needs of its diverse clientele.

The Singapore office and team will also be key to supporting the launch of Jus AI, the company’s generative AI-powered legal assistant. Jus AI is designed to optimize a wide range of legal tasks, including legal research, analysis, drafting, translation, and professional search, all while ensuring strict confidentiality and security. After a successful pilot testing as part of the Jus AI Acceleration Program with over 20 clients, including prominent APAC firms like Yulchon and Nishimura & Asahi, Jus AI has proven its ability to significantly enhance and streamline legal workflows.

This expansion marks a pivotal moment in Jus Mundi’s growth journey. With a strong foundation of clients, partners, and data, the new Singapore office will serve as a hub for continued innovation and collaboration.
