CIAM and Jus Mundi Announce Exclusive Partnership for Sharing Non-Confidential Arbitration Awards

Press Release

Paris, 26 October 2023

The Centro Internacional de Arbitraje de Madrid (CIAM) and Jus Mundi are delighted to announce an exclusive partnership to share non-confidential CIAM arbitration awards and related CIAM arbitration materials globally, for the benefit of the public good.

Under the new partnership with CIAM, Jus Mundi will host select CIAM non-confidential arbitration awards and related information on its public facing database, allowing anyone in the world to search these materials using Jus Mundi’s open research tools.

Speaking about the partnership, Marta Lalaguna, Secretary General of CIAM, stated that:

“CIAM is committed to its role as a leading iberoamerican and international arbitration institution, in support of our users. We know that users require transparency in the work of CIAM and the arbitration tribunals working under its Rules but always ensuring the necessary confidentiality of arbitration proceedings. For this purpose we have recently amended our Rules of Arbitration, enhancing overall transparency in the process and allowing for a more efficient publication of non-confidential and anonymized awards. We are delighted to partner with Jus Mundi in this endeavour.”

Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO & Co-Founder of Jus Mundi, said:

“The Centro Internacional de Arbitraje de Madrid is one of the most important hubs for international arbitration in southwestern Europe, both for commerce at the gateway of the MENA and Iberoamerican regions, and linguistically for arbitration in multiple languages including Spanish, Portuguese, English, and French. For this reason Jus Mundi is very proud to bring CIAM’s non-confidential arbitral awards into the public domain, underscoring the important arbitration work that the centre is performing and helping the world to better understand CIAM arbitration.”

The partnership will see select CIAM arbitration awards and related materials hosted on Jus Mundi’s comprehensive international law and arbitration database.
