Dalian International Arbitration Court (DIAC) and Jus Mundi are delighted to announce a partnership to make non-confidential DIAC arbitration awards and related documents freely available to the world, to improve understanding of arbitration in China and for the benefit of the global public good.
Under the partnership, Jus Mundi will host select DIAC non-confidential arbitration awards and related documents, allowing the general public anywhere in the world to search for materials using Jus Mundi’s advanced AI-based platform and open research tools.
Speaking about the collaboration, Fengyou BI, President of DIAC, stated that:
“We are proud to work with Jus Mundi, which uses artificial intelligence to provide powerful support for the global sharing of international commercial arbitration data. DIAC is located in Dalian, China, an international shipping center, international logistics center and regional financial center in Northeast Asia, where active international trade and commerce creates a wide range of dispute resolution needs. To meet the needs of the practice, DIAC is actively engaged in international arbitration and is committed to continuously improving its international arbitration services.
Among the many advantages of the arbitration system, confidentiality is one of the most important considerations for commercial entities to recognize and choose arbitration. Without compromising the principle of confidentiality, enhancing the transparency of arbitration and increasing the predictability and commercial certainty of awards has received widespread attention in the international arbitration community and has become a topic that DIAC continues to explore. The cooperation between DIAC and Jus Mundi is believed to further enrich the Chinese elements of Jus Mundi’s international law and arbitration database, expand DIAC’s international visibility and influence, and increase global understanding and trust in DIAC and Chinese arbitration.”
Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO of Jus Mundi, said that:
“We are honored to undertake this partnership with DIAC, an institution with over 27 years of experience in dispute resolution and arbitration. This partnership focuses on sharing DIAC’s non-confidential arbitration awards and related materials to further enhance the global understanding of China’s arbitration processes while ensuring that confidentiality continues to be respected for the Parties.”
The partnership will see select non-confidential DIAC arbitration awards and material hosted on Jus Mundi’s comprehensive international law and arbitration database.
Dalian International Arbitration Court (Dalian Arbitration Commission) was established in 1996 and is one of the leading arbitration institutions in China. As a non-profit legal entity, DIAC provides public services. It operates under a council-centered governance structure in which powers of decision-making, execution and supervision are independent from and balance each other.
