CBMA and Jus Mundi Announce Partnership to Make Brazilian Arbitration Materials More Transparent

In the first partnership of its kind in Latin America, the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA) and Jus Mundi are pleased to announce a partnership to make non-confidential CBMA arbitration information freely available to anyone on the planet with an internet connection, in the name of the public good.

Jus Mundi will host CBMA non-confidential arbitration materials and information publicly, enhancing transparency while retaining full respect for confidentiality.

CBMA materials on Jus Mundi will include vital information about arbitrators and arbitration, searchable to the public using Jus Mundi’s advanced AI-based platform and research tools, further enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of legal research in Brazil and abroad.

Speaking about the partnership, Gustavo Schmidt, President of the CBMA, stated that:

“We are establishing here a crucial partnership fulfilling CBMA’s mission to be each day more transparent and in compliance with the best international arbitration standards. Thus, this partnership comes in due time, and we are proud to be the first ADR provider in Brazil to do so.”

Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO of Jus Mundi, said of the partnership that:

“Jus Mundi has shown through our partnerships with major arbitration institutions that transparency in arbitration does not need to come at the cost of confidentiality.

Through sharing these important CBMA materials, Jus Mundi will improve understanding of Brazilian arbitration globally while retaining the confidentiality that makes arbitration an efficient mechanism for dispute resolution.”

The partnership will see select CBMA materials and information brought into Jus Mundi’s comprehensive international law and arbitration database, ensuring that practitioners and researchers worldwide have improved access to these valuable legal resources.

The Brazilian Centre for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA) is a national arbitration and mediation chamber, based in Rio de Janeiro, founded in 2002 by the ACRJ (Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro), by the FENASEG (National Federation of Private Insurance and Capitalization Companies), and by the FIRJAN (Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro) , three of the most representative entities of Brazil. A parceria autoriza a Jus Mundi a publicar os documentos e informações de procedimento arbitrais não resguardadas pela confidencialidade em domínio público o que contribui para aumentar a transparência..

Os documentos disponibilizados pelo CBMA poderão incluir informações sobre o procedimento arbitral e árbitros, que poderão ser acessados pelo público na plataforma de IA da Jus Mundi e buscados por meio das ferramentas de pesquisa exclusivas disponibilizadas na plataforma. Isso contribuirá para aprimorar a eficiência  da pesquisa jurídica no Brasil e no cenário internacional.
