About the Vis Moots
The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is an annual competition of teams representing law schools throughout the world. It usually takes place in Vienna during the Easter week. In the last Moot in 2020-2021, 384 law school teams from 83 jurisdictions participated. Around 2,000 students were members of the teams. The participating teams and their memoranda were judged by around 1,000 lawyers and professors from around the world.
The Vis East Moot is a sister moot to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot that takes place in Hong Kong.
The purpose of the Vis (East) Moot is to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration and provide a practical training to students for resolving international business disputes.
