The Arbitration Chronicles: Real Stories from the Frontlines of Arbitration

THE AUTHOR:
Giulia Bartoletti, Legal Publications Officer, Jus Mundi

What really happens behind closed doors in international arbitration?

International arbitration is filled with moments that don’t make it into case notes or final awards. The unexpected witness who changed everything, the clause that caused more confusion than clarity, or the deliberation that made you see the profession in a whole new light.

These moments are rarely shared beyond private conversations or off-the-record exchanges at conferences. And yet, they hold immense value. They reveal the real-world dynamics of arbitration, its challenges, its unpredictability, and its deeply human side.

To bring these stories to the forefront, Daily Jus and Astute Dispute Resolution have launched The Arbitration Chronicles — a storytelling initiative designed to collect and publish authentic, memorable experiences from arbitration practitioners around the world.

Whether your story is about a dramatic hearing, a creative settlement, a difficult client, or a surprisingly poignant moment in an otherwise technical process. We want to hear it.

Share Freely — We’ll Keep It Anonymous

We understand that arbitration is a discreet world. That’s why stories can be shared completely anonymously. You decide how much to reveal — whether you want to be named or stay in the background. All contributions are welcome, and our editorial team will handle each story with care, discretion, and a deep appreciation for nuance.

How to Participate

To submit your story, simply complete this short Typeform:

Deadline: Submissions are open until May 25, 2025

Length: 800 to 1,200 words
