Press Release
Paris, October 5, 2026
Jus Mundi and the Sports Arbitration Moot (“SAM”) have taken their long-standing partnership a step further. As of August 2026, Jus Mundi and the leading sports mooting competition have not only renewed their collaboration but also strengthened their commitment with the elevation of Jus Mundi to Platinum Sponsor status. Jus Mundi is delighted to support the most recognised moot court competition in international sports law.
For the sixth consecutive year, participating students will continue to be supported in their research by Jus Mundi’s comprehensive sports arbitration database.
Participants in the Sports Arbitration Moot will receive free and exclusive access to the database throughout the competition, until the end of the Online General Rounds, the general phase of the competition conducted virtually in March each year. Extended access will also be made available to students from the best 16 teams that qualify for the Elimination Rounds, the final phase of the competition, taking place annually in May, in Madrid, Spain.
As a finishing touch, students will also have access to Jus AI, Jus Mundi’s prime suite of AI assistants tailored for arbitration practitioners and international lawyers.
Partner of the Sports Arbitration Moot since its creation in 2021, this collaboration lies at the heart of Jus Mundi’s mission to foster easy access to the most comprehensive and trustworthy information on international sports law.
Giulio Palermo, Co-Founder of the Sports Arbitration Moot, said on behalf of the organising committee:
“Jus Mundi has been a partner of the SAM since our very first edition in 2021, and this next step is, above all, the continuation of a genuine relationship. From day one, Jus Mundi has supported our students in building their arguments and preparing for oral rounds using their Legal Research database. This has been instrumental in shaping how well-prepared our participating teams arrive at the competition, year after year. As the tools available to lawyers continue to evolve, it only made sense to take this partnership further and work together towards better training future generations of sports lawyers on skills they will carry even beyond the competition itself.”
Christelle Elonvenamaye-N’Zondo, Operations & Partnerships Director of the Sports Arbitration Moot, also said:
“One statement that we continue to hear from our students every year is how much Jus Mundi’s Legal Research tool is one of the most valuable resources the SAM gave them access to in preparing for the competition. With the increasing importance of AI in the legal profession, extending this partnership is further evidence of our mutual willingness to help mooties keep learning while adapting to where the profession is heading. With tools such as Jus AI making legal research more efficient, more than ever, advocacy will play a greater role for aspiring lawyers. It goes without saying that we are proud to be entrusted by Jus Mundi to navigate this shift together.”
Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO & Co-Founder of Jus Mundi, commented:
“We are proud to deepen our partnership with the Sports Arbitration Moot and to contribute to the development of the next generation of sports arbitration practitioners. With a dedicated collection of sports arbitration resources, including CAS awards and other key materials, Jus Mundi helps make specialised legal knowledge more accessible to students around the world. We are delighted to support the SAM in giving students the resources and opportunities to develop their expertise and build the foundations of their future careers in the field.”

About the Sports Arbitration Moot
The Sports Arbitration Moot (the “SAM”) is the most prestigious competition to introduce students from all backgrounds to the exciting world of sports arbitration. Founded in 2021, its mission is to inspire and prepare the next generation of sports law practitioners by promoting excellence in legal education, teamwork, integrity, diversity and innovation.
The SAM takes a unique approach: its fully oral format allows students to develop their advocacy skills. Throughout the competition, participants defend their positions in oral hearings before a panel of arbitrators. The general rounds are held online, so that students can take part from anywhere in the world, and the best 16 teams go on to in-person elimination rounds in Madrid, Spain.
Entering the competition also offers access to the SAM Camp, a one-week intensive training programme led by renowned experts in the sports law field. This immersive experience gives students a solid and valuable grounding in sports law in anticipation of their preparation of the hearings.
Ultimately, the SAM helps build a broader and more knowledgeable sports arbitration community.
