Jus Mundi Affiliates with CodeX at Stanford Law to Drive AI Innovation in Legal Research and Arbitration

Press Release

Paris, 26 February 2025

Jus Mundi has become an affiliate of CodeX, the Center for Legal Informatics at Stanford University, to drive AI research and development (R&D) in legal research and arbitration, notably through hands-on innovation via hackathons. This collaboration will focus on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) applications and exploring its evolving role in legal practice.

Jus AI is a suite of AI assistants designed for arbitration, offering expertise in legal research, translation, document analysis, and drafting. By leveraging Jus Mundi’s extensive international law and arbitration database, Jus AI enhances speed and accuracy in legal work.

Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO & Co-Founder of Jus Mundi, said:

“At Jus Mundi, we believe the future of law lies at the intersection of legal expertise and AI-driven innovation. With Jus AI, we are transforming how legal professionals conduct research, draft documents, translate materials, and analyze intricate legal issues. Our collaboration with CodeX allows us to push the boundaries of AI in law, accelerating R&D and unlocking new possibilities for the legal industry.”

AI Hackathons to Fuel Legal Innovation

The series of AI-focused hackathons aims to bring together legal professionals, academics, and technologists to further Jus AI for the legal industry. The first event, the LLM x Law Hackathon at Stanford, will take place on April 6, 2025, as part of CodeX’s 20th Anniversary celebrations and the fifth edition of this prestigious event.

Megan Ma, Associate Director, Stanford CodeX, said:

“We are thrilled to establish an affiliate relationship with Jus Mundi. They represent a growing interest and need for specialized tooling – capable of meeting the needs of unique practices like arbitration. We look forward to innovating and pushing the boundaries of interdisciplinary collaboration together.”

Subsequent hackathons will be hosted in the United Kingdom, France, and Singapore.

These dynamic events will serve as incubators for AI-driven legal solutions, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration to improve arbitration and international law practices.

Exploring AI’s Future in Legal Practice

Beyond the hackathons, the role of AI in legal research and practice will be a key topic of discussion at the FutureLaw Conference at Stanford. The conference will bring together industry leaders, legal scholars, and AI experts to examine AI’s evolving impact on the legal profession.

By advancing AI innovation in legal technology, this collaboration seeks to empower legal professionals with intelligent tools for arbitration and international law, ensuring that the legal industry stays at the forefront of technological progress.
