Press Release
Paris, 2 November 2023
Today, Jus Mundi proudly announces a significant milestone by becoming a Société à Mission, marking a renewed commitment to its mission to “power global justice.” This formal evolution is not just a new label but an amplification of Jus Mundi’s enduring dedication to equitable access to global justice. This commitment is now anchored in the company’s Articles of Association.
“In embracing the title of Société à Mission, we are not merely adopting a new label. We are sharpening our resolve to deliver on our mission,” said Jean-Remi de Maistre, the CEO and Co-founder of Jus Mundi. “Our Open Access database has always been an agent of change. Now, with the governance mechanisms in place, we are better positioned than ever to make fair access to arbitration information a right, not a privilege.”
Since its inception, Jus Mundi has been guided by a deep commitment to public service and an unwavering belief in open access for everyone, everywhere.
The Four Pillars of Our Mission
Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, Jus Mundi has laid out four key objectives:
- Democratize Access: To make arbitration and legal data publicly available to promote education and equal justice for all.
- Interconnect Legal Worlds: To form partnerships aimed at community enrichment and advocating for legal and environmental protections on a global scale.
- Innovate Sustainably & Ethically: To develop sustainable and ethical AI models that adhere to global best practices.
- Grow Responsibly: To commit to a business model that prioritizes users and sustainability, thereby contributing positively to all stakeholders.
To ensure the steadfast implementation of these objectives, Jus Mundi has established a Mission Committee. This multi-disciplinary team comprises experts in arbitration, international law, technology, sustainability, governance, and diversity.
Emilia Onyema, a distinguished member of the Mission Committee and the Director of the SOAS Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Centre, expressed her admiration for our company’s evolution:
“Publication of awards and information on arbitrators greatly supports our understanding of the decisions arbitrators make. I am very proud to be associated with Jus Mundi and to support their laudable work, which aligns with those of the SOAS Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Centre that I lead.”
