ICDR and Jus Mundi Announce a Partnership to Boost Global Knowledge of International Arbitration

Press release

Paris, 28 July 2022

The International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (ICDR®), the international division of the American Arbitration Association® (AAA®), and Jus Mundi are delighted to announce their agreement to make non-confidential ICDR international arbitration awards freely available to anyone on the planet.

Under this agreement, Jus Mundi will provide unique access to select ICDR arbitration materials for free, to anyone in the world with an internet connection.

Jus Mundi is delighted to join forces with the ICDR to improve access to these materials using Jus Mundi’s advanced AI-powered research tools, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of legal research conducted worldwide and involving ICDR awards.

Speaking about the agreement, Eric P. Tuchmann, SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the AAA-ICDR, stated that:

“The ICDR  believes the international legal and business community will benefit substantially from the  availability of select international arbitration awards. These ICDR awards have the potential to contribute to the continued development of international arbitration globally. With the proper safeguards in place as provided for in the ICDR’s International Arbitration Rules, awards will be publicly available where all parties consent, if they have otherwise become public, or if no objections are received to publication of redacted awards within six months of the award.”

Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO of Jus Mundi, said of the partnership that:

“We are extremely proud to partner with the ICDR to make international arbitration, investment, and trade law more accessible to legal professionals and economic actors around the world, from one of the most active arbitration markets.

With Jus Mundi’s New York office opening, we are determined to work with the ICDR on this important partnership together to provide better access to international law and arbitration for the public good.”

ICDR and Jus Mundi look forward to incorporating international arbitration materials into Jus Mundi’s comprehensive international law and arbitration database, ensuring that practitioners and researchers worldwide have improved access to these valuable legal resources.
