About the Sports Arbitration Moot
Despite its distinctiveness in the field of arbitration, sports arbitration is seldom part of the curricula of law faculties. When finishing their law studies, most students have never even heard about sports law arbitration. The Sports Arbitration Moot (the “SAM”) aims at changing this by introducing sports arbitration to the next generation of arbitration practitioners.
The SAM is an annual team competition for students in law schools. Moot competitions are fundamental tools for the legal education of future practitioners, who get to develop their advocacy skills while completing their studies. The SAM aims at contributing to the creation of a broader and more knowledgeable sports arbitration community.
The SAM consists of a competition where teams will make oral submissions as claimant and respondent. The 2022 edition of the SAM will be held online, with final rounds taking place in person in Zurich.

*About the SAM Camp
The SAM Camp is a five-day crash course on sports arbitration. Mooties enrolled in the SAM Camp will get an introduction to sports arbitration and advocacy skills, which will allow them to be better prepared for the Moot that will take place a few months later.
