About the Cross-Examination Moot

The Cross-Examination Moot is the first-ever moot on cross-examination in international arbitration. It is hosted by Sciences Po and supported by New York University, Queen Mary University of London, and the National University of Singapore. It is also supported by the Permanent Court of Arbitration and Compass Lexecon, who prepared the mock case for the first edition.

Considering the importance of cross-examination for the arbitration profession and the fact that young lawyers are not exposed to its technics until very late in their careers, this unique moot has the purpose of educating the next generation of arbitration practitioners on the most challenging and exciting aspect of advocacy.

Its board of directors is composed by prominent academics and practitioners from different regions, including Diego Fernández Arroyo, Alexis Mourre, Yas Banifatemi, Loukas Mistelis, Sophie Nappert, Franco Ferrari, Samaa Haridi, Gary Bell, Eleonora Coelho, and Jean Kalicki. Its executive directors are Francisco Amallo and Ezequiel Vetulli. Its coordinators are Mihaela Apostol, Bas Munnik, and Paola Patarroyo.
