The Vienna International Arbitral Center (VIAC)<\/a> and Jus Mundi<\/a> are delighted to announce an addition to their existing partnership, which will see non-confidential VIAC arbitration award extracts shared on Jus Mundi\u2019s platform openly available to the public, in the name of the public good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the exclusive partnership, VIAC will select non-confidential extracts of VIAC arbitration awards for Jus Mundi to host on its open public database, allowing anyone on the planet to search these materials using Jus Mundi\u2019s open research tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking about the partnership, Niamh Leinwather, Secretary General of VIAC<\/strong>, stated that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs VIAC continues to play a pivotal role in international dispute resolution particularly in CEE and SEE, our commitment to maintaining the confidentiality integral to arbitration is unwavering. We are very grateful to VIAC for this wonderful moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n The partnership will see the current VIAC x Jus Mundi partnership enhanced, with select extracts of VIAC arbitration awards hosted on Jus Mundi\u2019s comprehensive international law and arbitration database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Representing one of Europe\u2019s leading arbitral institutions, the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (\u201cVIAC\u201d) serves as a focal point for the settlement of commercial disputes also offering mediation and since quite recently investment arbitration in the regional and international community. It has greatly benefited from its traditional position in a neutral country between east and west. Founded in 1975 as a department of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, VIAC has in recent years enjoyed a steadily increasing caseload from a diverse range of parties spanning Europe, the Americas, and Asia. In 2023 VIAC saw its\u2019 caseload increase by 35 percent and the aggregate amount in dispute increase by a phenomenal 87 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n VIAC has administered over 2,500 proceedings since its inception and is thereby one of the most experienced arbitration centres in the region. The centre benefits from a robust global network of leading arbitrators experienced in international arbitration under the Vienna Rules. The new VIAC Community Ambassador Network established in 2023 is paramount to its dedication as thought-leader in the region. Austria has adopted the UNICTRAL Model Law as its law of arbitration in 2006 with minor changes. The Austrian Supreme Court is arbitration-friendly and is the court of first and last instance in annulment proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
