*The Wiki Notes are now led by Alexandre Vagenheim, Jus Mundi’s VP of Global Legal Data<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n As a lawyer, c<\/span>onducting legal research to<\/span> find the perfect case matching the factual pattern of my case or <\/span>successfully <\/span>rebutting the opposite side\u2019s argument<\/span> has always been one of my favorite tasks<\/span>.<\/span> However, <\/span>on several occasions, <\/span>I<\/span> have <\/span>been frustrated not to have access to a database <\/span>allowing<\/span> lawyers<\/span> to conduct exhaustive research<\/span>, <\/span>not only among ISDS documents but also public international law resources (such as decisions of the <\/span>ICJ<\/span> or Mixed-Claims Commissions<\/span>)<\/span>.<\/span> At<\/span> times,<\/span> the<\/span> disappointment also came from <\/span>the existing search engines <\/span>showing search results limited to <\/span>a few <\/span>well-known <\/span>case law<\/span>. <\/span>Law is constantly evolving globally, <\/span>especially<\/span><\/i> in arbitration!<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n When I learn<\/span>ed<\/span> about the <\/span>creation of <\/span>Jus Mundi,<\/span> I<\/span> felt, this is it!<\/span> Jus Mundi<\/span> is<\/span> the<\/em> too<\/span>l. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n I <\/span>used <\/span>Jus Mundi<\/span> for some time<\/span>,<\/span> and <\/span>this experience <\/span>influenced my decision to join <\/span>the company<\/span>. <\/span>I was<\/span> impressed with <\/span>Jus Mundi<\/span>\u2019s most <\/span>comprehensive database<\/span> which gets updated <\/span>constantly <\/span>w<\/span>ith the latest documents and <\/span>case law<\/span> in the<\/span> field.<\/span> The<\/span> intelligent <\/span>features<\/span> such as <\/span>search <\/span>filters <\/span>(by applicable treaty, institution, arbitrator, law<\/span> firm, the <\/span>outcome <\/span>of the <\/span>proceedings<\/span>, <\/span>etc.<\/span><\/i>)<\/span> are a game-changer<\/span>. <\/span>It is also incredibly user-friendly, to the extent that I was curious, how did they even do it?<\/span> Furthermore, I value <\/span>and<\/span> share <\/span>Jus <\/span>Mundi\u2019s objective<\/span> \u2013<\/span> to make international law <\/span>and arbitration<\/span> accessible and understandable<\/span>, globally<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n In short, this is how I went from being a user of Jus Mundi to a Product Specialist and Chief Editor. I am grateful that I can<\/span> use all my experience as an international law lawyer<\/span> to Jus Mundi\u2019s advantage to contribute to the development of these tools from a lawyers\u2019 point of view and expand the project to all areas of international law. I also enjoy being<\/span> part of a dynamic and collaborative team made up of 11 nationalities<\/span> and not limited to just<\/span> lawyers but also tech and data specialists. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Wiki Notes allow lawyers to quickly grasp the <\/span>key<\/span> issues arising out of a legal concept and<\/span> to<\/span> instantly access <\/span>the most <\/span>relevant <\/span>cases<\/span> and <\/span>different trends <\/span>followed by tribunals <\/span>on the topic. <\/span>T<\/span>he<\/span> Wiki Notes<\/span><\/a> can also be <\/span>the starting point of <\/span>your <\/span>legal research <\/span>to <\/span>narrow <\/span>it <\/span>down<\/span> when <\/span>you do<\/span> not already<\/span> have<\/span> in mind the specific keywords and filters to use in the search engine.<\/span> In a second step, the<\/span> intelligent<\/span> search engine<\/span> and CiteMap (which shows subsequent cases referring to cases cited in the Wiki Notes) <\/span>allow comprehensive research<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n I plan to make the Wiki Notes project user-oriented and beneficial for anyone who is looking for quick answers with the latest jurisprudence. With this strategy, I hope to enforce our vision further to make Jus Mundi the one-stop destination for legal research.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
